Seascape
This seascape painting of a rocky section of the Mediterranean coast of France, where I grew up, depicts a storm at sea.
The brush strokes create an impression of movement of the sea and roughness of the waves, so that one has the impression of hearing the crashing of the waves on the rocks. Ominous dark clouds add to the wild nature of the scene. The feeling is one of the indomitable power of nature, which remains in my memories of childhood, and which for me evokes the uncertainty and unpredictability of life.
