The inspiration for "Nautical Nostalgia" comes from sentimental and maritime themes. In "Trompe L'oeil" style, the painting depicts the interior of an old wall cabinet with a wooden shelf. It contains souvenirs, namely fishing lure, old books about fishing, an oil lantern, a large shell and postcards. The feeling is one of nostalgia for a bygone era.
